As a quilter and mixed media artist, good scissors are essential to the process of making good work, and my toolbox includes Havel’s scissors for working with fabric, stabilizers and papers.
For appliqué, Havel’s 5 1/2" Curved Tip Sewing Scissors cut cleanly and the tips are great for fine points. I also like the fact that a little guard comes with my scissors to protect them. This pair is part of the “Sew Creative” Series and the raspberry color handles are very pretty.
When I threadpaint, I use Havel’s 5 1/4" Multi-Angled Machine Embroidery Scissors to cut threads closely without worrying that I’ll slice into the fabric surface. The multi-angle makes cutting very easy.
For strip piecing, I like the 60mm Jumbo Rotary Cutter. The large size is easy to hold and it also cuts through thick layers.
It's nice to find a single brand of scissors that have such a complete line of quality tools. I find that every pair of Havel’s I own, cut beautifully and work better than other scissors I’ve used. I love my Havel’s!
